Action Automotive began back in 2010 when husband-and-wife team Aaron and Toni Collins opened a small workshop on Anderson Road.
In 2013, Nasir Haig joined the team, and over the years, Action Automotive grew steadily thanks to great people and loyal customers. By 2020, the team was proud to move into a new, purpose-built workshop on Enterprise Drive, providing them with the space and tools to offer an even higher level of service.
Then, in 2024, Action Automotive partnered with Century/Yuasa Batteries to launch BatteryZone Wanaka, adding expert battery testing and replacement to their list of services.
16 years on, Action Automotive is still the same approachable, hard-working local team — just with a bigger workshop, more experience, and the same commitment to keeping your vehicle safe and reliable.
Meet the crew
Aaron Collins – Director, Workshop Manager and Senior Mechanic.
Aaron manages the workshop and brings more than 32 years of hands-on industry experience to the team. Still very much on the tools, he’s known for his extensive technical knowledge, practical problem-solving, and diagnostic ability, and is the go-to person in the workshop when something tricky comes through the door. Alongside managing the workshop team, Aaron oversees the overall direction and decision-making of the business, helping ensure the workshop continues to run efficiently while maintaining the high standards and service Action Automotive is known for.
Toni Collins – Director and Business Operations Manager
Toni works alongside Aaron in overseeing the overall management and day-to-day operations of Action Automotive. Her role includes strategic planning, resource management, team coordination, and guiding the ongoing growth and direction of the business, while ensuring the day-to-day running of both the office and the wider operation continues smoothly.
Nasir Haig – Senior Mechanic (2IC)
Nasir is a highly experienced mechanic with extensive industry knowledge and is well known for his attention to detail, strong technical ability, and thorough approach to his work. Customers really value his reliability and his going the extra mile to remember both their vehicles and the little things that matter to them, making him an invaluable part of the team.
Rory Johnston – Senior Mechanic
Rory brings strong diagnostic skills and a real strength in modern vehicle technology and systems. He has particular experience with European vehicles and enjoys the technical side of diagnostics and fault-finding. His knowledge and problem-solving ability make him an integral part of the workshop team.
Sasha Mariana – Office Administrator
Sasha focuses on customer service, accounts, and administration, helping keep the office organised and running smoothly day to day. She manages customer communication and booking coordination, and supports the workshop team as needed to ensure customers have a friendly, efficient, and seamless experience.
